I suggest you ready this chapter, even if you skim thought it because some people to see who are their, how I convinced them to sit here, and their is also a tankana moment towards the end.
On a peaceful day that would have turned into a tragic one, tanjiro with his 2 friends, inosuke and zenitsu, and his sister, Nezuko were on the 'Mugen train' when suddenly they disappeared.
Unknown to them, all members of the Demon Slayer corporation and all Demons disappeared as well.
...
Suddenly, they appeared in a huge hall with seats.
"What the- what happened?!" zenitsu yelled as their environment changed.
Tanjiro was the first to react when he drew his sword and looked around, "Be careful this might be a blood demon art!" he warned them.
"WAHHH! NOOO! I CAN'T DIE YET! I HAVEN'T EVEN MARRIED NEZUKO-CHAN YET!" zenitsu yelled.
"WAHAHAHA! I KING OF THE MOUNTAIN LORD INOSUKE WILL DEFEAT THIS-" he was cut off.
"What the hell is happening!?" they heard a yell and looked to see a white-haired man with many scars on his body.
Zenitsu and inosuke didn't know who he was but tanjiro recognized him as the wind Hashira.
"I thought we were about to meet the flame Hashira... what's happening?" he was shocked further when he looked around to see more of the Hashira's appear and some more familiar and unfamiliar faces.
"What the hell!?"
"what's happening?!"
"a demon attack?!"
"What happened?!"
Many voices came and tanjiro was able to recognize most of them.
"Shinobu-san! Giyu-san!" he called and the two people looked at him and blinked.
The others also looked towards him causing zenitsu to hide behind tanjiro clutching onto the box Nezuko was in.
"Ara Ara kamado-Kun do you know what's happening here, because I was in my office with kanao and now suddenly we are here," Shinobu asked with a smile, but her hand was on her blade, ready for a demon attack.
"Oi! Does anyone know what's happening here dammit!" sanami the wind Hashira yelled.
"Namu Amida butsu, this might be a demon's doing, everyone be prepared!" Gyomei the blind yet strongest hashira called getting everyone's attention
With this, all the slayers were ready when a voice called them.
"Calm down my children." Came the soothing voice of one Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the demon Slayer Corp, next to him was his family.
"Master! How did you end up here?! This place could be dangerous!" mitsuri said in worry as the hashira's got ready to defend their master from any surprise attack.
"Everyone calms down," a voice echoed which startled everyone.
"Who is this!" rengoku yelled.
"Calm down rengoku-san I know you are all worried and tense, but for starters, I am the one who brought you all here and I want you to understand that I don't want to harm any of you." the voice spoke.
"AND WHY SHOULD WE BELIVE THIS CRAP! FOR ALL WE KNOW YOU COULD BE A DEMON! HECK, YOU PROBABLY ARE!" sanami yelled.
"Ouch, no I'm not a demon, that's kinda gross, but for starters, you all can call me, 'author-san'" the voice said.
"Author-san?" tanjiro questioned though his sword was still drawn.
"AUGAR-FAN FIGHT ME! I LORD INOSUKE WILL PROVEMYLES MYSELF AS THE STRONGEST!" inosuke yelled.
"Umm, it's Author-san and no I won't fight you, rather I want you all to sit here and- you know what I'll just talk to you ubuyashiki-sama, you're the most reasonable person here with tanjiro Kamado." Author said.
"Oh?"
Most people were surprised some were shocked, the ubuyashiki family is considered very kind and nice, and for someone to compare them to tanjiro was a huge compliment to the boy's humanity.
Many people who realized who tanjiro was took glances at him causing the boy to blush at the attendance.
"Okay author-san, can you please explain what us all as to what is happening, why are we here? And What is your objective?" Ubuyashiki asked calmly.
"Yes, I will, for starters, I brought you all here to watch the visions of the future of your world as well as some parallel words." The author answered.
"..." silence covered the hall.
Then.
"What?" was the most suitable answer that came from Uzui Tengen.
They were all baffled and confused as well as shocked at the answer, look into the future? And parallel universes? What is this author-san talking about?
Then Obanai yelled with anger, "That's impossible unless you're a demon with a blood demon art which in turn makes you, our enemy!" He said as he unsheathed his sword.
Author sighed as everyone got vary of him, "Guess I'll have to do this," he muttered.
"Huh? Do what?" their question was answered when more people came in, and they were not welcome.
"Huh? Where am I? Nakime take me back." He said out loud.
"Who the hell is he?" everyone thought as they realized that he was a demon. However, one boy recognized him.
With anger, he unsheathed his sword and yelled, "THAT'S MUZAN!" tanjiro's voice came which shocked all the slayers and the hashira's unsheathed their weapons as they knew tanjiro had met Muzan face to face.
"Huh?" Muzan gave an annoyed look, "why didn't I notice them sooner?" he thought confused.
Suddenly more figures appeared, all of the demons, starting with the uppermoon's literally every demon appeared on the other side of the hall.
"What the hell is happening!" sanami yelled.
"Author-san I thought you said you didn't want to harm us!?" tanjiro yelled as he got ready to fight alongside the others.
The author didn't respond.
Muzan looked at them and his eyes widened momentarily when he spotted Kagaya ubuyashiki and gave an order, "Kokushibo, the ubuyashiki are here, kill them and all the other slayers now." He ordered.
Instead of asking for an explanation kokushibo, the uppermoon 1, kokushibo, got ready to attack, "Understood lord Muzan," he said calmly as he prepared an attack.
"Hey now let me join too!" the demon with the kanji for uppermoon 2, douma, said with a smile, he sounded excited.
"I'll kill all the men," the demon with the kanji for uppermoon 3, akaza said as he got ready as well.
The other demons also got ready for battle.
The demon slayers weren't behind either as they prepared for an all-out battle.
Kokushibo unexpectedly let the charge by swinging his blade and unleashing many curved blades.
The slayers got ready to dodge but everything stopped when the attack hit an invisible wall stopped.
Many widened their eyes in shock and confusion while some of the stronger ones narrowed their eyes in realization.
"The author-san-"
"The person who brought us here-"
"-doesn't want us to fight." Both Kagaya and muzan said a realization that was accepted by most of the smarter and stronger ones.
"' Author-san'? Is that the person who brought us here?" muzan thought after hearing Kagaya say it. He looked around, "this place looks like a theater," he thought and looked asked out loud.
"Who dared to bring me here?" muzan asked in a calm yet threatening tone, "And drop this inviable wall so I can slaughter my biggest nuisance," he said in annoyance as he looked at the demon slayers, the hashira's and tanjiro also glared back.
"NO," the author said back, and ignoring muzan he turned his attention to tanjiro, "and Tanjiro-san, sorry I didn't answer you before when you called for me, I was busy with something." The author said.
"Uhm- it's fine, I want to apologize too I also yelled at you when I thought we were about to fight demons." Tanjiro apologized like the kind soul he is.
Author chuckled, "It's fine but I really need to get things going so let's hurry up," he said and tanjiro nodded. The author turned his attention to Kagaya, "ubuyashiki-sama, with this barrier in place you and your slayers are in no danger as I won't allow a conflict in my theater. The barrier makes it so you all can see and hear each other but can't interact physically, which is by both sides didn't notice each other" the author said and muzan looked angered at being ignored.
Kagaya nodded after hearing about the barrier, "We are inside a theater? I understand, but why are demons here?" he asked.
"Why to react of course! I need the demons to see what happens in the future or it'd be no fun!" the author said cheerfully.
Before Kagaya could say anything, a demon spoke, "Wait, react to the future? What's happening?" the uppermoon 3 asked in confusion.
"The person who brought us here said we'll react to the future and different worlds or something," a random slayer said still a little afraid of the demon regardless of the barrier.
"React to the future? Are you a demon I created?" muzan asked in confusion.
"No, I'm not, I myself am from a different world, on the other hand, I'm surprised that you all haven't noticed the dead people at the back I just brought," the author said and all heads snapped to the back of the theater to see another group of people, but they looked like ghosts, as they were somewhat translucent.
Some people widened their eyes as they saw their loved ones.
"Tanjiro, do you know someone there?" zenitsu asked as he saw the shocked expression on Tanjiro's face.
"T-That's my family..." tanjiro mutters and Zenitsu's eyes widen.
"Tanjiro?!" Kie Kamado, tanjiro's mother muttered with tears in her eyes.
"NII-SAN!" tanjiro's dead younger siblings shouted.
"Tanjiro?" tanjuro kamado tanjiro's father who died a few years before his family's massacre looked at his son in confusion.
Some others also noticed their family.
Like the butterfly sisters, "Kanae-nee-san?" Shinobu muttered as she, kanao, Aoi, and the 3 caterpillar sisters noticed the former flower hashira standing there looking at them with shock.
"E-Everyone..." kanae muttered seeing her sisters in front of her.
"N-Nee-san... S-Sabito, makomo?" Giyu looked with his eyes wide, almost on the verge of crying.
The dead members of the kamado family, kanae kocho, Giyu's 2 old friends and sister were the ones standing there and they stared in shock and then the living ones dashed towards them with tears.
"Tanjiro..." Kie called as she placed her hand on his cheek.
"Nii-san..." his sibling called, tanjiro looked at them with a sad look, all of them were younger than 10 when they died.
"Tanjiro." Tanjuro called his son.
Tanjiro looked at his father standing by his mother's side.
"Father..." tanjiro turned his head down.
They started talking about everything that had happened and at one-point Nezuko came out of the box and joined them even though she could only make muffled noises.
Right next to them just enough distance to be close but not too close for the sensitive reunions.
"Nee-san..." Shinobu called with tears in her eyes.
"Shinobu..." Kanae called tears as well, she looked around and saw kanao, Aoi, and the 3 caterpillar sisters also looking at her with different mixtures of emotions.
"Kanae Nee-san..." they could do nothing but call her name, this reunion was so unexpected as they believed they would only see their sisters once they themselves died but here they are.
"So... did anything change since my passing?" Kanae asked gently and with tears, the sisters nodded and hugged them and started telling her all the pleasant events, like how kanao is a demon slayer now and Shinobu became a hashira.
Just a few feet away Giyu was talking to his sister and friends.
"Nee-san, Sabito, makomo..." Giyu called, while he didn't have tears in his eyes but he was close, he certainly was emotional.
"Giyu..." Tsutako Tomioka his sister called.
"I'm- I'm sorry... because of me you- you-" Giyu was about on the verge of crying.
"No No it wasn't your fault, it was my own decision to save you, don't ever blame yourself for that, understood!" she put her foot down on that.
"she's right Giyu don't blame yourself, not after everything you've gone through my friend." Sabito joined.
"Yes, they are right Giyu-Kun," makomo also added.
A hand landed on his back gently, making them look up to see master sakaji urokodaki looking at him.
"They are right Giyu, I wanted to help you but I didn't know how to," he looked at Giyu's sister and his old students and said, "Maybe now I can,"
"Master," both Sabito and makomo called gently and the old man looked up.
"Sabito, makomo, I knew I'd see you two again but I didn't think it'd be like this," the former water hashira said.
"Neither did we master," they replied.
"There's a lot to talk about, yes?" Tsutako said.
Giyu nodded, "Yes."
Both the author and Kagaya let them talk.
Regardless, all the alive ones were demon slayers, dealing with death was an everyday job for them, they collected themselves properly in 10 minutes, and most smiled at the reunion.
"Tanjiro what happened?" tanjuro called his son, and the boy looked towards him, but not his eyes, in a moment of rarity he looked conflicted and guilty but he tried his hardest to hide it.
"Hum- umm no-nothing-" tanjiro tried saying while hiding his face but he was cut off.
"Tanjiro, you don't know how to lie so how about you be honest with me, what worries you so much," tanjuro said and this caught the attention of both and friends and siblings.
The butterfly sisters and water breather's group paid more attention to this since they all knew tanjiro on a personal level.
"Tanjiro?" this mother urged him to speak.
Tanjiro's head was down in front of his parents, in his entire life he never needed to do that with how great of a son he is, but now, in his mind things were different.
His friends got closer to him and Nezuko tugged his haori in worry.
"I **iled **u," he said but he said it in a very low voice, so low that even zenitsu couldn't hear it.
"Sorry but can you speak louder?" his mother asked in worry, tanjiro had never behaved like this.
Tanjiro looked up with pain and guilt in his eyes, eyes that couldn't look into his father's, "I-I failed you, father..." he said and his mother's eyes widened as she covered his mouth, his siblings and friends got confused, including the butterfly sisters and the water breather's group, as well as the others present, now everyone was listening.
"Tanjiro, please explain what you mean?" tanjuro asked calmly, but his eyes were narrowed in worry.
"I- 10 days before your passing you put down a bear close to our house which you killed, that night you asked me to protect our family after you're gone, but I failed," Tanjiro's voice began to shake a bit as he swallowed a lump of saliva, "I- when our family was being killed, I was sleeping peacefully, my sister was t-turned into d-demon and I couldn't do anything! My siblings were in pain but I didn't know! My mother needed me but I wasn't there! I-I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO SURVIVED AND I DON'T KNOW WHY! NEZUKO'S BEEN A DEMON FOR 2 WHOLE YEARS BUT I STILL HAVEN'T FOUND A CURE! I-I FAILED AT EVERYTHING- AND-AND-"
Now things were clearer for everyone, what tanjiro was going through was common for demon slayers but that doesn't mean it was good to have, those who knew tanjiro were especially worried considering they knew how much tanjiro smiled and tried to stay positive, they realized how hard he must have been on himself and yet he smiled all this time and only after confronting his past like this brought this out.
"Oh Kamado-Kun, I'm sorry I didn't notice earlier," Shinobu said to herself, the boy had been under her care for months but she didn't notice any signs of emotional trauma, tanjiro was hiding his pain well.
"Tanjiro-san..." kanao thought worried about the boy who changed her life just a few hours ago.
Aoi and the 3 caterpillars were also worried.
Zenitsu and inosuke also felt bad about not noticing things sooner, tanjiro had been helping and motivating them ever since they met but just now, they realized how little they appreciated him.
Giyu watched tanjiro with hidden worry, "he also felt guilty... we are more alike than I originally thought tanjiro..." he thought.
Kie was looking at her son with worry and pain, she wanted to hug him, and tell him it wasn't his fault but she knew she'd have to wait till her husband finished talking to him.
Tanjuro wanted to hug his son to comfort him better but he had to wait for that, so he got on one knee to meet Tanjiro's gaze and tanjiro met his eyes for the first time since they met in the theater.
"tanjiro, my son, you didn't fail me, when I died you were just 11 years old, at that young age you took all the responsibility on yourself, every day you cut trees, chopped them, made charcoal, and carried the heavy basket down the mountain to sell it, you made and carried those heavy loads of charcoal down a mountain, no matter how hot or cold the weather was, you sat in front of the furnace for hours even when the weather was scorching hot, you walked down the mountain on the snowiest days, you filled the handcart with charcoal and took it down the long and hard mountain road and even after all of that you found time to help your mother around the house, give your siblings the affection and attention I should have been there to give, you provided for 7 people since you were 11 years old and never complained, even when I was alive you helped me and your mother work and learned how to make proving for everyone after I'm gone." He spoke the truth that no one would have known.
When tanjuro paused in his little speech, everyone else had their eyes wide. No one had imagined that this was how hard tanjiro's life was before becoming a demon slayer.
They all had an idea of how heavy a load worth for charcoal would be, and it's not light at all, on top of that tanjiro walked with that weight in snow too! The heat of the furnace and clod of the winter, having to push a cart worth of charcoal at the age of 11 on top of that his family was living on top of a mountain and taking care of his siblings too.
Some who didn't acknowledge tanjiro began to see him in a new light. While those who did began to see him in a brighter light.
"Your nose helped you realize when my time was close, but you kept quiet," tanjiro's eyes widened when he heard that, tanjuro kept speaking with a sad smile as he started caressing tanjiro's hair with his right hand, "You thought I didn't know but I did, I knew how you kept all the pain and worry to yourself every time, I knew how you decided to suffer alone for our family's sake, and then you had to lose everyone to the demons, you were hurt, you felt alone, tired, but you didn't stop, you got up and decided to fight for your sister, and for everyone who suffered at the hands of the demons, to protect others, and to heal your sister you trained and worked harder and you became strong, you started finding a cure and then you found a lead, and now you're helping the demon doctor make a cure for your sister even after everything you went through, you changed the way an entire organization worked for a thousand years and made them accept you demon turned sister. You didn't fail me tanjiro, you didn't fail anyone, if anything I'm the one who failed you, leaving you with so much to do and so many responsibilities to take care of, and now you have to fight demons too." Tanjuro almost finished as tanjiro finally began to understand how less he thought of himself and how unhealthy it was for him, tanjuro spoke, "My apologies won't change anything but I do know that you are not the one who should be blamed for what happened," he paused briefly and held his son's hand, "tanjiro, thank you for everything." He finished, and this was the moment when tanjiro dropped to his knees and his parents and siblings hugged him as some tears and sobs escaped his lips, this was the first time he cried since he lost his family.
Tanjiro's mother pulled back from the hug and held his face, "Tanjiro, listen to me because I will only say this once, you have made me proud since the day you were born, that never changed, and never will, okay." she said, her motherly love and worry evident in her voice and actions as she hugged him too.
"Nii-san!" all his siblings also hugged him, they knew he worked hard for them but hearing everything from their father's mouth made them realize how much tanjiro had sacrificed for them, they couldn't help but cry for him.
After that was done tanjiro heard some people call his name and turned to them with his family.
"Tanjiro..."
"Kamado-Kun..."
"Tanjiro-san..."
"Kamado-san..."
It didn't matter who it was, most who knew tanjiro already respected him, and their respect increased even more, those who didn't know tanjiro personally or didn't respect him began to respect tanjiro too even if just a little. Obviously, this only includes humans.
Most of the hashira's didn't have money problems or responsibilities.
Giyu was raised by his sister before he met urokodaki, "tanjiro you truly are a strong person." Giyu thought.
Shinobu and Kanae's parents were wealthy before she became a part of the Demon Slayer Corp.
"You truly are a very kind and hardworking person kamado-Kun, you should be proud of that, very few people are as good as you." Shinobu complimented him.
"Yes, my sister is absolutely right kamado-Kun!" Kanae added as well, she wanted to say more but she was a stranger to tanjiro, while he wasn't one to her, "I can't believe I get to talk to him personally!" she took a glance at kanao, and then tanjiro and then smiled brightly, "kya! A match made in heaven!" she thought in delight since she had seen the entire coin toss thing this morning from up above and tanjiro already had her blessing for having kanao.
Mitsuri's and Rengoku's parents are also rich so they never had to face such problems.
"kya! Your love for his family is so pure I can't handle it! you deserve so much better!" mitsuri said with a smile.
"To take on such a great responsibility at such a young age! You truly deserve respect young Kamado!" rengoku exclaimed.
Tengen was from a shinobi clan whose family had enough wealth so he didn't have to worry about others financially so he couldn't help but be moved after knowing about tanjiro's struggle even as a child, "taking care of your family huh? It's flashy I approve!" Tengen said as stood with his 3 wives.
Muichiro didn't have any of his past memories but from how unharmed and fragile his body was before becoming a slayer he knew he didn't have any responsibilities; he would acknowledge tanjiro till he forgot about him again.
Obanai's family circumstances were one of the worst, but he knew that having to worry about money and having to worry about providing for a loved one's essential needs was not something he understood, he was saved by the former flame hashira when he was 8 years old and he didn't have to worry about others in his life.
Gyomei was a priest, doesn't meet he didn't have enough, people would donate enough for him, and with his large frame nothing was too much hard work for him, he also didn't have to take on such responsibility at such a young age.
With tears, he said, "You are a kind child young Kamado-Kun, I will pray for your happiness."
The only hashira who could relate to tanjiro was sanami, who stayed quiet and looked away, he didn't have anything to say but he couldn't help but envy tanjiro, because unlike tanjiro sanami knew what he did, he gave up and ran away from his responsibilities.
"Gah! You're cool monjiro!" inosuke said.
"His name is tanjiro! But yeah, he's right tanjiro you're amazing!" zenitsu also compliments him, he knew he would have done nothing but cry if he had to do half of what tanjiro went through, this brought a feeling of respect in him for tanjiro.
"They are right tanjiro-san! You really are a wonderful person." Aoi also added.
"Yes! Yes! They are right tanjiro-san please don't look down on yourself." The 3 caterpillars also encouraged tanjiro.
Kagaya gave a smile after hearing tanjiro's story.
"I see you really are an exceptionally kind child Tanjiro-Kun," he commented as his wife and children nodded in agreement with smiles on their faces.
Many other slayers also complement him for staying strong throughout all his problems.
Tanjiro looked at them and realized he let out all his emotions in front of everyone and blushed in a little in embarrassment but collected himself quickly and bowed towards them, "I-I'm sorry I made the atmosphere so awkward for everyone! I'm truly sorry."
Kagaya gave another gently smile, "there is no need to apologise tanjiro-Kun, as the leader of the demon slayer's I've seen many of my brave children break down at one point or another, even some of the hashira's not just the current ones but the former ones as well. There is no shame in crying, shame would be if you never stopped that, you tanjiro-Kun have been strong for a long time and I know you will continue to be." He said with a smile on behalf of everyone there.
Tanjiro looked surprise for a moment but then closed him eyes, he took in a deep breath and opened his eyes and smiled, this time it felt warmer them before, in the case of Kagaya and gyomei, they could tell he smiled by the happiness in his voice. Those who knew tanjiro smiled seeing he was back to normal.
"Thank you everyone truly, I'm so glad I got to see meet you all." He said genuinely.
Almost all the slayers smiled at that, in the case of the soft-hearted like mitsuri, they got a happy, warm and fuzzy feeling in their chest at tanjiro's words.
In all of this, there is a quite butterfly sister who wanted to encourage and compliment tanjiro too, but because her heart only opened up recently she wasn't able to speak up like the others, even if she tried to, her mind thought git jumbled up and she was left confused, with the urge to use her coin to make a decision, something she wanted to stop even more after hearing about tanjiro's hard life, kanao was in a turmoil.
Good for her, her older sister noticed and smiled, kanae who knew how tanjiro had helped her little sister and encouraged her to listen to her heart knew the boy was right for her little sister and was glad to have gotten the chance she them in in person while both are alive.
Kanae slowly and gently held kanao's hand causing the girl to look at her with surprise, with some of her worry and confusion going away, kanae smiled at her, she was about to tell kanao to try and encourage tanjiro however she suddenly stopped, if magic was possible one would she her face turn cat-like as she thought, "wait, if I tell kanao to compliment and encourage tanjiro now he'll register it as one of the many kind words he just received, btu if kanao waits and talks to tanjiro after things have settled down and time it right tanjiro will remember her words better!" with that kanae smiled mischievously confusing her little sister.
"Kanao!" she called with excitement causing the girl to jump up a little, kanae continued, "wait for now, talk to him up close in a while when things have calmed down, try encouraging him privately when you're the only one he's focused on!" She said and kanao looked confused for a moment but nodded after processing her words.
"o-okay!" kanae noticed that kanao was already showing signs of chance as she said 'okay' instead of being more formal and saying 'understood' or even 'yes master' like she would in the past. This change most likely when unnoticed by even her since the little girl was more focused on tanjiro's past. Kanae smiled lightly as she looked at tanjiro, "thank you, kamado-Kun." She thought happily.
But by them kanao processed all of her sister's words and looked down blushing a little, "W-What did nee-san meant when she said to talk to tanjiro-san when he's focused on me only?!" she thought imagining tanjiro looking at her with that kind smile of his and she blushed a little more as her hands reached her chest, "it's that feeling again..." she thought remembering the time when tanjiro said he'd flip the coin till she can listens to her heart and smiled at her, "it's the same feeling as before, but it feels a little stronger," she thought and looked at tanjiro, "tanjiro-san..." the looked at him.
Unintended by her tanjiro looked at her back and smiled causing her to look away suddenly confusing the boy.
Kanae watched this with a smile and let out a quiet chuckle, and unknow to them tanjiro's mother, Kie kamado had also noticed the kids little eye contact and started to catch on things and smiled at her own theory about what tanjiro and kanao's relationship might be, and grow to be.
Tanjuro kamado in this time was thanking Kagaya and Giyu for give tanjiro and Nezuko a second chance.
"There is no need for that kamado-san, tanjiro-Kun and Nezuko-Chan proved they earned that chance." Kagaya said back.
Giyu looked away, "I just did what I felt was right." He said, but he was surrounded by tanjiro's sibling suddenly surprising him.
"you're so cool Nii-san!"
"I saw how you stood up for Nii-San and Nee-Chan again a few months ago I saw from afterlife! You were so cool their too!"
"you're super strong too! Awesome!"
Giyu was in turmoil and looked towards his sister and the others for help who just smiled and lest things to him, causing him to feel betrayed, "how could you all?" he thought quietly thinking how he could get the little kids to leave him.
"Okay you guys don't bother Giyu-san anymore, come here," tanjiro sand and his siblings came to his side, some with smiles other with whines.
Giyu internally smiled, "thank you tanjiro." He thought.
"I'm apologize for my children's behaviour," tanjuro apologized to Kagaya.
"No need," he replied.
Tanjuro looked at tanjiro getting his attention, "tanjiro, I earlier said what happened was not your fault, but that doesn't mean it was no one's fault," he said getting everyone's attention, tanjuro continued as he looked beyond the human crowd at the crowd of demons, specifically at one demon with narrowed eyes, "it was his fault, the source of all the tragedies, the one to blame is muzan." He said as everyone looked at them demon again, every human agreed with tanjuro's words, not a single person thought otherwise.
When they looked at the demons a realization hit them, why did the demons let them talk peacefully and stayed quiet?
Reason? the author had modified the barrier so sound doesn't pass through to humans, when the demons who tried to interrupt them realized this and stopped and waited unwillingly. Once the humans looked towards them their sound started going through again.
"Finally, can we get this thing over with now?!" akaza asked in annoyance.
"Now now don't be rude akaza-dono-" douma was cut off.
"Don't talk to me!" akaza yelled at him.
"Akaza. Do not disrespect your superior." Kokushibo warned.
Akaza and douma looked confused for a moment, normally this warning comes with a severed limb to remind them how superior the uppermoon 1 is to them, but this time he just warred them. The 2 looked at kokushibo to see him staring at someone in the human crowd with a hint of shock in his eyes.
What they didn't know is that muzan who was also staring at them same man, was taking to kokushibo telepathically.
"Kokushibo that man standing next to the boy with 'those' earrings, they both look identical to 'that' man. Are you sure 'he' did not have any family or descendants?" muzan asked mentally in urgency trying to keep his composer in on the outside.
"No Muzan-sama I am sure 'he' did not have a family after his first wife and child died to a demon." Kokushibo answered mentally.
Muzan just sighed mentally but was warry of the mark on tanjuro's head, "can't believe I'm glad there's a barrier between them and me." He thought to himself.
"Very well then, stay vigilant of that man and his child." Muzan told kokushibo referring to tanjuro and tanjiro.
"Yes, my lord." Kokushibo answered.
Muzan looked up, "so what now author, their little reunion is over what happens next." Muzan demanded.
"it's author-san but okay. Anyways! Next, we will get seated, fix a few things and get started!" the author said cheerfully.
"Fix what?" they all thought when suddenly some startled and surprised sounds came.
"W-What how!?" Kagaya said out loud.
"W-What happened Kagaya-sama!" Amane was the first to reach his side followed by hashira's and tanjiro reaching for their weapons and the other slayers getting weary except gyomei who also called out.
"W-what's happening! How!" gyomei called and some others looked at him.
"What happened gyomei-san?!" Shinobu was the first to ask.
Both gyomei and Kagaya spoke together, "M-My eyes! I-I can see!" they said shocking the ones who knew they were blind.
"w-what! How is that possible your-" Amane widened her eyes and looked up in general. "is this your doing author-san." She asked.
"Yup it sure is! I need them to be able to see for them to react to the future and different worlds, on that note, now for the other 2,"
Then 2 people widened their eyes in surprises, one was Muichiro who suddenly held his head and Giyu looked at him in worry.
"What happened?" he asked calmly and everyone looked at him but worried for the boy.
"M-My memories... I remember... everything..." he muttered making others wide their eyes again.
The 2nd was Nezuko.
"N-Nii-San," she called calmly and tanjiro looked at her.
Tanjiro snapped his head towards her, "what happened Nezuko are you okay!" suddenly his eyes widened as he realized and looked at her in shock as they made eye contact. Nezuko's eyes were still that of a demon but now there were emotions and some tears.
They were confused but then author spoke, "TA-DA! I need Muichiro to remember and understand things, and Nezuko to have human level intelligence and her memories, while she's still a demon she remembers everything clearly and has her memories from her time as a hum like normal." Author explained.
The others had mixed feelings of surprise, shock, and confusion, but they had seen enough today to believe what was happening.
After some people talked to Muichiro and Nezuko had a tearful reunion with her family author decided they could move forward with their plans.
"Good, now just the seating arrangements and we can begin, good grief this is taking a lot of time." He muttered but everyone heard him and some sweat dropped a little.
Author spoke out loud, "now, I have to move just 2 more people to this side and we can take seats." He said confusing them. When suddenly 2 people appeared in the human side, 2 demons appeared in the human side.
Sanami was the first make a move ad tried to kill them but suddenly his entire body froze up and he couldn't move anything except his mouth.
"Now now don't be mean sanami-Chan!" the author treated him like a child causing everyone to see him froze in air.
"Sanami-san." Obanai called in concern.
"don't worry he's fine, I just made it so he can't move a muscle except his mouth." Author reassured.
"Why did you put demons in here!" sanami yelled.
"I'll make it quick; these 2 demons are lady Tamayo and yushiro, they are demons like Nezuko, free of muzan. I was keeping them behind another barrier away from demons and humans till now, I made it so only they can see and hear you guys." The author explained.
"Free of muzan's control? how did you do that?" Shinobu asked lady Tamayo while sanami was able to move again.
Lady Tamayo while was nervous standing between so many humans, she and yushiro were teleported next to tanjiro who was with his family and she was able to be at ease because e of that. She spoke, "I'm a doctor. I was the one who turned yushiro into a demon after studying how to do it for almost 200 years. I was able to modify our bodies to the point we can survive on a little bit of human blood, which we get in the name of blood bank donations, we only consume enough to survive." She said and yushiro stood guarding her, looking warry of everyone around them.
Shinobu narrowed her eyes in confusion, "and how did you become free of muzan's control." she asked raising the real question.
"Long ago when I was still in kibutsuji's control, we encountered a demon slayer who-" Tamayo was cut off by the author.
"Wait lady Tamayo! Let's not talk about 'him' yet, he's on of them people we'll react too." The author said surprising 3 people, one being Tamayo herself.
"We will?" she muttered in surprise, never had she thought she'd get to see 'that' man again.
The other two were also demons.
Kokushibo and muzan looked calm from the outside but they were barely able to kept that fassad.
"I have to see that 'thing' again?!" muzan gritted his teeth.
"..." kokushibo was thinking too many things at the same time.
"Who is this people you speak of authors-an" tanjuro asked.
"That is a surprise kamado-san but I do believe you all will enjoy it." the author is cheerful.
No one questioned further, everyone knew the author likes to keep them in suspense, and they didn't have a way to leave this place either, on top of all that, this 'author' brought the souls of the dead here, they knew that went beyond any human or demon powers.
"Lord muzan do you wish to watch the future in the first place?" Nakime asked her lord.
Muzan stayed quiet for a moment, but then he answered, "yes, if this author can indeed show us the future the demon slayers will know what my future plans will be, in that case it's rather know my future movements to in order to act accordingly when we go back. I want you all to pay attention as well" he said calmly.
"Understood." The uppermoon's said back.
Hearing this the slayers narrowed their eyes but Kagaya called them.
"You heard them, muzan is already trying to use this opportunity to his best, we must do the same." Kayaya encouraged them.
Most replied with smiles, "Yes master!"
"Author-san, can we sit anywhere?" Kagaya asked.
"Sorry but no, I have specific seating plans and for good reasons too." He said and Kagaya nodded.
"Very well then, please go ahead." He spoke.
Suddenly everyone disappeared from their places and reappeared on different seats and looked around to see where they were.
The demons noted that muzan and kokushibo were sitting in the center of the front row alone, followed by uppermoon's in the second and others demons behind them distanced apart enough to make it comfortable.
Human side was quite similar, the low ranked slayers alongside kakushi's were sitting in a similar manner starting from the 10 row and going back.
The important members like the hashira's were at the front.
The ubuyashiki family was sitting together in the 5th row surrounded by most of the hashira's.
Sanami was next to gyomei and his to his dismay his little brother genya, who was next to Muichiro.
Other the other side of the ubuyashiki family was mitsuri and obanai sitting together.
Ahead of them was the rengoku family and Uzui Tengen with his 3 wives.
While they all were close this was a distance of a few seats between the groups. The whole group was a bit on the right of the seating section unlike the people in the front rows.
The interesting groups were in the 2nd and 1st row right in the center.
Lady Tamayo and yushiro were sitting towards the right side of the dead members of the kamado family, being kie, Takeo, Hanako, Shigeru, Rokuta, and tanjuro in the 2nd row right behind tanjiro who was in the center of the 1st row.
On tanjiro's right was Nezuko who no longer had a bamboo muzzle in her mouth since she could and wanted to talk. To Nezuko's right was zenitsu and then inosuke followed by Aoi and the 3 caterpillars.
This wasn't surprising to tanjiro, what surprised him the person on the seat right next to his on his left side, it was kanao, followed by kanae, Shinobu and then Giyu and his sister and friends. Urokodaki was right behind them in the 2nd row with the former lighting hashira.
However, the thing is, while Nezuko was on tanjiro's right she was places with a gap of 1 seat between them, while kanao and kanae had a gap on one seat as well. It was like tanjiro and kanao had being seated as a pair instead of a being in a huge group since there was no gap between kanae and Shinobu or even Nezuko and zenitsu and the other to their right.
"Ara ara, what is this for author-san? And why do I have to sit next to Tomioka-san without a gap between up?" Shinobu asked with a smile but she didn't seem happy about the arrangement.
"Relax, to answer your first question, I have good reason, and for your second answer," the author paused and continued, "Giyu-san, kanae-san when or if Shinobu-san attacks tanjiro you 2 have to stop her okay?" he asked or more like suggested which made almost everyone raise their eyebrow, and shock the tanjiro and his friends, especially tanjiro and kanao.
"Why would kocho-san attack tanjiro?" Giyu asked calmly but he was worried about tanjiro.
"don't worry it's nothing serious, Shinobu-san sometimes can go a little over board but I don't think she would attack him, Afterall tanjiro-san didn't actually do anything bad or wrong. On the other hand, the Shinobu-san who might attack tanjiro today for a 'certain' reason will be one of the more supportive of him in the same endeavor in the future so don't worry, current Shinobu-san is simply just not ready for the news break" the author explained confusing everyone but kanae who had starts in her eyes.
As the others started talking in their groups about what has happened till now and the possibilities of what they could react to
"With how protective Shinobu is of our sisters and the seating arrangement, I might now what the future holds!" she thought excitedly as she took side glances at tanjiro and kanao sitting together. The boy was looking at he with a smile while the girl was looking down with her hands pressing in her lap.
A bulb went off in kanae's head and she nudged kanao, who peaked at her.
Kanae made hand gestures and mouthed saying, "talk to him now."
Kanao understood and perked up, she looked at tanjiro, who noticed her since they are right next to each and looked back.
"Is there something you'd like to say kanao-san?" tanjiro asked.
"Um-um I-I" she was having trouble speaking up since she hadn't used the coin to decide for her.
Seeing this tanjiro smiled kindly and gently placed his left hand on her right and said, "it's fine, I'm sure changing how you've been doing things will be difficult in the start but I believe in you, if you need help, please feel free to talk to me." He said is a heartwarming smile.
Seeing this kanao's eyes opened a little more and unknow to her, a hint of a blush came to her face as she looked at him.
She took in a deep breath and tried to speak, "um- I-I wanted to say that, everything that happened to your family in the past was not your fault a-and that you're very brave and strong for staying strong after everything you've been through, s-so don't be to hard on yourself tanjiro-san." She said in a low voice, only loud enough for tanjiro to hear.
After listening to her words tanjiro was left speechless momentarily, not only had she gathered up the courage to speak you without using her coin, something she probable never did before, but she also spoke the longest he had ever heard her, and unknown to him, anyone had ever heard her speak, and all that just to encourage him.
Tanjiro smiled again, this one in gratefulness.
"Thank you, kanao-san, your words mean a lot to me, really." Tanjiro spoke.
Hearing his words, Kanao feel a warm feeling in a chest, this time it was happiness, she smiled and nodded back and looked down at her lap again, now feeling better.
Kanae was overjoyed at this, "KYA! IT'S WORKING" she screamed in her head.
Nezuko looked at the interaction with confusion, their voices were too low for her to hear since many more people were also speaking. She turned to zenitsu.
"Zenitsu-san. You have great hearing, right? Can you tell me what they are talking about?" she asked.
Zenitsu who would normally be overjoyed at hearing Nezuko even look at him as demon, much less try talking to him as a human didn't give much of a reaction to her, why.
"N-No I-I can't hear them like I normally could." He said but shock was evident in his voice.
Worried about his health Nezuko was about to say something hen the author said.
"Ahh zenitsu, it's because of me, you see when we start the reactions at points like in combat scenes the sounds of the scenes will go really loud, like people yelling in pain, anger or even just yelled their techniques names, with your normal hearing you'd probably get a headache or worst so I made your hearing normal for now, don't worry it'll go back to normal when I send you all back to the normal world." The author explained.
Zenitsu nodded slowing understanding the situation, "I-I see, thank you." he muttered.
"No problem!" the author said back cheerfully.
"Zenitsu will you be alright?" tanjiro asked, worried for his friend.
Zenitsu looked back with a little sweat at seeing tanjiro concerned for him and smiled nervously, "Y-yeah I'm fine, I was just surprised." He spoke.
Tanjiro smiled back, "I see, I'm gland." He said and looked forward.
"he's so kind." The rest of their friends thought.
"Our tanjiro grew up well," both kie and tanjuro thought with a smile.
"Nii-san is nice as always!" his siblings thought.
Giyu smiled internally while the other water breathes smiled at tanjiro.
"Kamado-Kun is such a nice boy I wonder why the author-san thought I would hurt him?" Shinobu thought.
"Yup! Tanjiro-Kun you have my blessings!" kanae thought with a smile.
Nezuko who still wanted to know what tanjiro and kanao were talking about leaned forward only to see something which made her eyes wide.
"Tanjiro-Nii-San is holding kanao-san's hand? Why?! When did that happen?" she thought to herself.
She was about to say something when she felt her mothers' hand tug on her shoulder stopping her. Nezuko looked back at her and gave a questioning look.
Kie put a finger on her lips and looked at tanjiro and called, "Tanjiro."
Tanjiro looked over his right shoulder at his, "yes mother?" he asked with a smile.
Kie smiled, "your hand dear." She said and tanjiro looked at his right hand, which was free.
Tanjuro chuckled a little and calmly said, "your other hand son."
Confused tanjiro looked at it and saw it was still on kanao's right hand and blinked.
Everyone in the first 2 rows looked at it and for a moment silence fell as only kanae and tanjiro's parents smiled.
Tanjiro and kanao blushed and pulled their hands back, "W-We were still holding hands?!" the both thought and looked at their own hands, "b-But it felt... nice? Ahh what am I thinking!" They both thought the second part along the same lines.
"Aww so cute!" kanae thought.
"I see, so that's so it will be, good for you Nii-San." Nezuko thought with a smile.
"what's happening?" Giyu thought.
"Ahh! When will I get to hold Nezuko-Chan's hand?" zenitsu thought
"Ara ara..." Shinobu didn't know what to think.
"New Nee-San?" tanjiro's other siblings thought cutely.
The others didn't realize what happened since they weren't paying attention.
"Anyways, I want to get the show on the road so let's react." The author said.
"I've been wondering, who will we see the future?" akaza asked.
"Ahh want an excellent question akaza-dono." Doma tried talking to him.
Akaza stayed quite because of kokushibo.
"Actually, I've been wondering the same thing." Kagaya called.
"Ahh yes, for starts look ahead at the wall Infront of you, I will be projecting a video on it," the author said.
"what's a video?" Kie asked.
"Ahh a that's tricky to explain. You all know what a photo is right?" the author asked and everyone nodded.
"Well, a video is like taking pictures of every single moment in a second and keep going for however long needed, the photos are played like a picture book at just the right speed making it look like you're seeing a vision of that time again." There were still some doubts and confusions.
"don't worry there are many things you won't understand yet, and there are many things in need to explain to you, like what are, phones, skyscrapers, laptops and the list keeps going." Author said.
"P-Phones? What are these things." Tanjiro asked what everyone was thinking.
"These things are what you all will be seeing when I occasionally show you the events that will take different worlds where time is set about 100 years from now, and things like phones are the result of extreme technological advancements between now and then."
"There are worlds where we'll be born a hundred years from now?!" Nezuko asked.
"Yup, and there's more, like world's completely different from your, to understand thing about these objects better we will go through some videos which will give explanations of what's considered normal knowledge and common sense 100 years from now." The author said a video begin.
